A bit of Flairology. Style and creativity.
My mother had style and creativity. She designed and made dresses, cardigans, gowns, whole outfits. But she also did lots of oil painting, and many charcoal drawings (like the one in this post), jewellery, house decor, styling, and much much more. In short, all that requires an artistic and dextrous hand was her forte and her enjoyment. My father was not as creative as my mother but he was as meticulous, and he had a dextrous hand too.
I think creativity is something within that’s in your blood, together with your potential and will to develop it. It comes naturally to some, you have an ‘eye’, or a ‘very good eye’ for what is aesthetically pleasant to a large number of people. You feel it, and you are not alone, other people feel and like the same too, and they will materialise their ideas if they have the ability to do so. And a key point in all of this is that you enjoy it, you have fun like a child.
My daughters are creative too. It comes slightly easier and naturally to one more than the other, but that’s from having a bit of more innate flair, and a lot of more interest.
I read that “The creative adult is the child who has survived”, and for many reasons I believe this is completely true. So since I think fashion magazines are harmful I am going to do a bit of media filtering or what I call ‘Flairology‘, I am going to look around and search for things of any sort I like, engage my children, play with them and then post them here. I am going to ramble through all sorts and learn along the way, so feel free to have the patience to accompany me on this journey, or ditch me and forget me at any time.
